Behavior makes sense. Whether it is “noncompliance” or scripting, the goal is to understand why that behavior is occurring and help the learner get their needs met in a more functional way. Children are not labeled as noncompliant or resistant. Instead, systems are built to empower them. At Cove ABA, every program is individualized, culturally responsive, and designed to reflect the seven dimensions of ABA: applied, behavioral, analytic, technological, conceptually systematic, effective, and generality. The goals that are taught are socially significant and meaningful to the learner, their family, and their community.
Families are met where they are, both literally and clinically. Cove ABA provides high-quality ABA therapy directly in homes and community settings, including parks, libraries, and any location where the child lives and learns. Programs include a mix of discrete trial training (DTT), natural environment teaching (NET), and play-based learning. Comprehensive assessments are conducted and caregivers are included in the development of individualized goals that promote meaningful change. Common areas of focus include building functional communication (including AAC use), increasing social initiation and reciprocity, reducing challenging behaviors, supporting transitions, toilet training, and developing independence with daily routines. Cove ABA prioritizes collaboration, transparency, and ongoing supervision. Progress is most likely to occur when everyone on the team is supported, including parents. For that reason, caregiver coaching, school consultation, and real-time data sharing are all part of the model. The goal is to build something meaningful, one small step at a time.
